Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely submission of financial statements and tax returns.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, attending meetings and acting as a trusted adviser.
  • Prepare financial statements and year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, charities and limited companies.
  • Manage and execute audits for Partner sign-off, focusing on corporate governance, internal controls, and financial accuracy.
  • Oversee audit review, reporting, working papers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Organise workflow within the team, allocate assignments, and monitor resourcing requirements.
  • Review work undertaken by junior staff, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure work is delivered within budget and deadlines.
  • Support the development and training of junior staff.
  • Prepare schedules for complex VAT and tax returns and assist with advisory matters.

About You

  • ACA/ACCA qualified with at least 3 years’ practice experience.
  • Strong audit and accounts technical knowledge.
  • Proven experience supervising, managing, and developing a team.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build long-term professional relationships.
  • Confident, resilient, and adaptable, with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • IT literate with solid working knowledge of accounting software.
