This is a dynamic and rewarding role where you will deliver a high-quality, customer-focused housing service to those in housing need, with a strong emphasis on homelessness prevention, early intervention, and support for vulnerable households with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
As a Housing Solutions Officer, you will:
- Deliver an efficient, high-quality, and professional housing service in line with the Council’s statutory duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, Housing Act 1996 (Part VII), and associated legislation, guidance, and case law.
- Conduct thorough investigations into clients’ circumstances and make sound, evidence-based decisions in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to address housing, care, and support needs, ensuring clients receive holistic and effective interventions.
- Promote homelessness prevention through advice, advocacy, and negotiation with landlords, agents, and other agencies.
- Deliver training and raise awareness on homelessness legislation, prevention procedures, and best practice across the Council and with partner organisations.
- Participate in the out-of-hours homelessness service on a 1 week in 15 rota basis.
