Teaching Assistant
We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our Foundation Learning and Additional Learning Support department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Teaching Assistant, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Role Purpose – Support students with SEND across college courses (Entry Level to Level 3), enabling access to learning and promoting independence in line with individual support needs.
- Student Support – Provide 1:1 or small group assistance, prepare and maintain learning resources, monitor progress against EHCP outcomes, and contribute to learner reports and reviews.
- Collaboration & Mentoring – Work under the direction of ALS leaders and teaching staff, attend meetings, mentor new team members, and engage in college marketing and transition events.
- Administration & Compliance – Maintain accurate records (support cards, ISPs, annual reviews), ensure safeguarding and welfare responsibilities, and uphold college policies and procedures.
- Statutory Duties – Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, and health & safety; participate in training and development to maintain professional standards

The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
